SCOTTISH LEGISLATION
On 1 March 2025 the Scottish Government brought in new legislation to protect funeral consumers. All Funeral Directors must adhere to it by Law and abide by its Rules and Regulations. It also requires that all Funeral Directors can randomly be inspected without prior notice. Complaints procedure
Whilst K McMillan Family Funeral Directors Ltd strive to offer the best possible care and service to our families we recognise that on occasion an expression of dissatisfaction may occur or a problem may arise. If that should happen we would appreciate you letting us know as soon as possible so that we can investigate and address the issue. We can be contacted on info@kmffd.com or on 01236 821278 where a senior member of staff will assist you in noting and discussing your concern in order to resolve the matter.
If this proves to be not possible and you wish to make a formal complaint, as K McMillan Family Funeral Directors Ltd is a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) and subject to their Code of Conduct any matter that cannot be resolved can be referred to them for investigation. NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FUNERAL DIRECTORS RESOLVE SERVICE
As K McMillan Family Funeral Directors Ltd is a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) and subject to their Code of Conduct, any expression of dissatisfaction that is not capable of resolution can be referred to NAFD Resolve. It is fully funded by the NAFD, with conciliation and adjudication services provided by qualified professionals from the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR).

This is the UK’s only free and independent dispute resolution service and is designed to protect funeral consumers by providing a forum in which they can raise a complaint against an NAFD member and seek redress, while avoiding any stressful confrontation.
